January 26, 2012, “New Moon Day” Sermon Transcript

By Lawrence A. Nowell

.)    January 25, 2012, in the evening the crescent moon was seen by witnesses in Jerusalem. Today, on January 26, 2012, is the beginning of the eleventh month of Shevat on the Hebrew calendar. [Transcriber’s Note: Wednesday evening was 30thday of Hebrew Month.]

.)    “I don’t want to preach about how you’ve broken God’s heart, but if I preach a little bit longer, if we preach, won’t you listen to God’s heart, God’s heart?” Theme song TOCOG.

.)    This is The Obedient Church of God broadcasting live from www.theworldtomorrow.org and 1stcenturychristian.com.  Obey so Father can love you.

.)    “Bon Jour, Paris, France” where it is 6 p.m.; it is 9 a.m. on the West Coast; and 12 noon on the East Coast. Breakfast time, lunch time, and supper time, the perfect time for our spiritual feeding for today.

.)    Today’s sermon title is “Resetting Your Course” in how to draw closer to God’s heart.

.)    Shofar is blown on this solemn feast day. It is the call to assembly.

.)    Service is opened by prayer where we enter the Throne Room in the north heaven with raised hands, palms up, head bowed, eyes closed. Prayer is given by Lawrence A Nowell.

.)    While we are in the Throne Room of God where there are 24 elders, 4 living creatures, and a host of angels, and Yeshua at Father’s side, we give the fruit of the sacrifice of lips.

.)    For the song service, we sing out “Praise God’s Name,” Psalm 135; our second song is “His Mercy Never Fails,” Psalm 136; and “By the Waters of Babylon,” Psalm 137.

.)                        We sing “By the waters of Babylon” because here in America the NDA Act became law for those who are “belligerent”! We are captives because of “hate speech.” To speak against homosexuality is “hate speech.”

.)                        On the brighter side today is New Moon Day, commanded to be observed. The people were told to worship before the Lord at the gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east in the Sabbaths and in the new moons.  Read Ezekiel 46:1-3.

.)                        When there is a new earth and new heavens, Isaiah 66:23 says, “And it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.”

.)                        In Numbers 28:11 & 14 it tells the people, “In the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the Lord…every month throughout the months of the year.

.)                        Two trumpets of silver were used for the calling of assembly, Numbers 10:2. And “In the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpet…”  Numbers 10:10

.)                        Numbers 29:1 says, “In the seventh month, on the first day of the month ye shall have an holy convocation; you shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.” [Transcriber’s Note: This is an annual Holy Day on New Moon Day.]

.)                        Leviticus 23:24 tells Moses to speak to the children of Israel, “In the seventh month  in the first day of the month, shall you have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.” [Transcriber’s Note: “Loud blasting”]

.)                        New Moon Day is a time to draw closer to Yahveh.

.)                        Salient things to be cognizant of: the new crescent moon was not seen by witnesses in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening of the 29th day of the Hebrew month.

.)                        The crescent moon could have been seen if there wasn’t a cloud cover on the 29th day of the past month of Tevet. So therefore that month defaults to the thirtieth day, which was Wednesday evening. In God’s month there can’t be more than 30 days, so therefore, last night was Shevat 1 and today is the daylight portion of the first day.
[
Transcriber’s Note: “Potential visibility” of the crescent moon on the 29th is not Biblical.]

.)                        We have the proof of that from the Karaite Korner news letter that they did not sight the moon on the evening before the 29th day of Tevet, therefore, we know it has to be today the 30th day of the Hebrew calendar.

.)                        Thursday, January 26th, 2012, is the New Moon Day, Shevat 1, 5992. It is so beautiful how God has set it all out so we can all carry forward on his holy days and we can have special time with Father.

                                                                   *  *  *

.) There are dire threats of war in the Middle East that we are not hearing on the news. Iran is being blockaded by the United States, which is an act of war. And the United States is having an embargo of any countries dealing with trading with Iran.

.)                        Ehud Barak said that Israel must consider “an operation” before Iran reaches an “immunity zone,” referring to Iran’s goal of protecting its uranium enrichment activity by moving them to deep underground facilities, such as the one at Fordo.

.)                        Yes, there will be a terrible war in the Middle East. It’s unfortunate. There isn’t a way around it. But we should be aware that we want to be prepared for the trouble that’s coming on its way, because there are so many provocations now.

.)                        The 32-year old Iranian nuclear scientist was in his car when two men on a motorcycle wearing black ski masks put a magnetic bomb onto his can and it blew up the car. It killed the scientist, named Mustafa Ahmadi Rasshan and his driver also.

.)                        The blame is being directed against the CIA and Israel’s Mossed for orchestrating that brutal assassination in broad daylight in the city of Tehran, Iran, last Wednesday. But the Israeli Mossed and the CIA say they don’t know anything about it.

.)                        Hillary Clinton said, “I want to categorically deny any United States involvement in any act of violence inside Iran.”

.)                        Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said that the U.S.A. had nothing to do with the assassination.

.)                        It was a professional act but Israel’s Shimon Perez also denied any involvement in the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist. Here’s how he worded it, “Not to the best of my knowledge.”

.)                        That’s an admission of guilt because he doesn’t want to be caught lying out rightly, so he twists it around “Not to the best of my knowledge.” This would indicate it was Israel who had planted the magnetic bomb on the car that killed the two occupants.

.)                        Killing the Iranian scientist is not the way to go. Sooner or later all countries will have nuclear arms. There is no way to stop nuclear exploration. Therefore, just by killing scientists isn’t going to stop it. It’s unreasonable. People cannot stop it. It is so sad.

 *  *  *

.)               The United States is being hated around the world. We are hated in Pakistan because of all the families we’ve killed in Pakistan by the drone strikes. The drone blows up the whole house, and generally there are large families in the house, like 20 people. They are all killed in order to try to get one person, who they think is involved in some type of terrorism.

The United States is putting itself into a type of situation where the U.S. will be hated more and more and more.

                                                                                  *  *  *

.) On other news fronts, the Republicans are trying to pick a leader and it’s just unbelievable how bad their choices are of leaders for national leadership.

.) Newt Gingrich of all people is feeding the fears of everyone in order to make himself the hero and popular. One of the things Newt Gingrich lied about is that he said, “There are more people on food stamps in the United States than there ever were under George Bush.”

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell looked up the statistics and more American families went on food stamps during George W. Bush’s Presidency than under any other President in history. The stats came out as 500,000 on food stamps more than under Barack Obama. So Newt Gingrich lied. Facts don’t matter. They outright lie.

.)   Why do so many people on the right vote for the Republican Party? It is because the Republican Party says it’s against abortion.

.) All right. Since the Republican Party is against abortion, why during the eight years George Bush was in power, didn’t he fire the Supreme Court? He could have done that.

He could have dissolved the Supreme Court. And He could have overturned Rowe versus Wade, which was the legislation permitting abortion.

.)  The Republicans under Bush were in power for eight years, but they didn’t do anything. It’s just a big ruse.

.) It doesn’t matter who the people elect. Nothing changes. There’s a song “Nothing Changes but The Seasons, everything stays the same and I’ve a hundred different reasons to never live that way again, never live that way again.” That’s why we are living Yah’s way.

.) That’s why we’re celebrating New Moon Day today because it’s a better way than slogging it away on the work force when we can have a day off and celebrate with Father and Yahveh.

.) We’re watching this world fall apart and we’re watching the liars just continually get worse and worse and shamelessly lie about each other in order to get elected.

                                                                              *  *  *

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell has a shocking report that is unconfirmed. Recently the Italian cruise ship, Costa Concordia, slipped over on its side on the rocks in the waters off the Tuscan coast near the Italian Island Giglio. At least 16 died and others are unaccounted for.

.) There are unconfirmed reports from a message received in the Kremlin in Russia from the northern fleet command whose Russian navy flotilla is in the Mediterranean Sea. A report that the anti- submarine ship Admiral Chenbeneko has detected the firing of a torpedo having the unmistakable signature of one fired from a kilo classed submarine near Isola de Galo, a popular vacation island about 18 miles off the Italian Tuscan coast, and within ten minutes of the detection of this torpedo being fired, a distress call was received from a cruise ship.

.) Nearing the port of Isola de Galo was a cruise ship named Costa Concordia that was owned by the Genoa based Costa Cruises. The following is something we don’t hear much about.

.) They say it hit the rocks, but it looks like an Iranian submarine had fired a torpedo at the ship. And why would the Iranians do that? It was done in order to retaliate because the Iranians are constantly being attacked by unknown sources because of their nuclear installations.

.) Reports from the London Telegraph about this attack state that the Costa Concordia’s passengers heard a loud boom around 8 p.m. local time. And it was first claimed that the ship was suffering an electrical fire.

.) There wouldn’t be a boom from just hitting the rocks, or braising the rocks, or going along side the rocks. That happened later.

.) It looks like it was torpedoed, and the torpedo signature was recorded.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell is mentioning this to show how close we are to a shooting war in the Mediterranean in Iran and it’s real. Just one miscalculation or one provocation or one false flag operation, which means a staged event, and we are going to be in World War. Very serious times that we’re in!

.) And it’s a dangerous combination of the top official’s public threats, Pentagon’s massive military deployment, and the continued drone flights and industrial sabotage against Iran and it provides an ominous warning. The media have been willing to cheer industrial sabotage.

.) What would you say with the blockade if the Iranians blockaded the Gulf of Mexico? What would you think? That would be an act of war. And yet the U. S. is doing that to Iran right now!

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell would say that the war is already started. The Americans have outraged the Iranians because Mr. Nowell did a research of the assassinations and the scientist killed in Tehran is the fourth Iranian scientis murdered in 5 targeted assassinations in 2 years.

.) We will see an actual war erupt because things are heating up. The war could kill hungreds of thousands of Iranians, and destabilize things worldwide. And it would cause a wild hike in oil and gas prices, devastating the economies of the poorest countries hanging on the edge. So realize we are just on the brink of war.

.) People will need to go to a service station and fill up with at least five gas cans of 5 gallons each so they have an extra supply of gas and always have their tanks half-full. Then they’ll be able to stretch out time when the oil prices skyrocket, and stations are closed or back-logged.

.) It’ll be just like in the seventies when the big oil crisis where there were lines of vehicles up to a mile long to even get to the pumps at the stations which had no gas!

.) This whole thing is being controlled, contrived. They can get gas from other sources but they’ll use this to jack up the gas prices and there’ll be the line ups. So look out!

.) The seriousness of things right now has to do with aggression on Iran. It’s unfortunate with Iran getting nuclear weapons but sooner or later they’re going to have them.

.) In Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell’s research here is information on history of the United States. Since the second World War here are statistics why the Americans are hated.

.) The United States has tried to overthrow more than 50 governments, and most of them were Democratically elected. Interestingly, George Bush said that other nations hate America  because America has Democracy. That is not true.

.) Americans have attempted to suppress the people, or any national movements, in 20 countries. And the U. S. interfered in the Democratic elections in at least 30 countries.

.) Since 1945 the United States has dropped bombs on more than thirty countries. And the U.S. actually went to war with tiny Granada. The U.S. invaded Granada with troops and took over the country and set up a puppet regime.

.) The United States has attempted to assassinate more than 54 leaders. The statistics are that the U.S. has carried out one or more of these actions in 69 countries with Britain as a collaborator.

.) That leaves the United States to the point where the sheer scale of suffering, let alone the criminality, is making the world hate the United States!!

.) This information can be searched out on one of the Global Research Links by putting in the name John Pilger: The World War on Democracy. There is a January 19, 2012 article on global research that gives the actual statistics of the fifty governments the United States tried to overthrow. And the movements in 20 countries the United States tried to suppress; the U. S. interfered with elections in thirty countries; the U.S. has dropped bombs on more than thirty countries, and the U.S. has tried to assassinate over 50 foreign leaders!

.) God’s people have to wait until Yeshua returns because this situation just gets worse and worse and worse. Even the United States people are rising up. Students are rising up.

                                                                           *  *  *

.) In California there was a time when a person could basically get a free education by just paying $150.00 for the processing fees and that was all. After Ronald Reagan became Governor of California, a student has to pay $100,000.00 or $200,000.000 to get their graduate degree.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell says, “Thank you, Ronald Reagan,” and then he calls him a “baboon” from the movie he played in, “Bedtime for Bonzo,” where he had a chimpanzee crawling all over his head.

.)  Before the 1900s the United States didn’t even have any income tax because the tariffs paid for all of the Government expenses, not the people. All the money from the tariffs used to go into the general treasury and the tariffs that were put on goods coming in from other countries was to deter them, and to keep the United States manufacturing.

.) Ronald Reagan took off all the tariffs on imported goods into the United States. All the companies that provided jobs went overseas! Thank you, Ronald Reagan.

.) People whine about cars and not having jobs.

.) Americans are buying Japanese cars or other foreign-made cars. We should buy vehicles that are made in the United States. The blame goes on all of us.

.) People who live in large cities should move to the country side before trouble breaks out.

                                                                            *  *  *

.) The United States is turning into a police state. In the old days if a person was stopped for speeding, the police officer was polite. The driver could get out of his car and meet the police man on mutual ground and chat with him. No serious problem unless the driver was combative.

72. Today when a police man stops a vehicle, the driver doesn’t dare make a move. The driver has to keep his hands on the steering wheel in plain sight. The police man has his hand on his gun, and stands off behind the driver, who had better be polite to the officer.

.) There’s been a total reversal. Police use to address citizens as Sir or Madam. Not anymore! The police man says, “Down on the ground, on your face, hands behind your back.” In order to question some people police literally throw them down on the ground, and handcuff the person and then they talk to the person.

.) This shows how the culture has been changing, and how the police state is coming to be more aggressive against all of us.

.) The Obedient Church of God member’s prayers have been answered because Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell hasn’t been stopped or pulled over for the whole time he has been on the road, and that is good.

.) Once a policeman puts the name Lawrence A. Nowell in the record they find out he is a public speaker and he is listed one below the NO FLY list and he is good for a four hour interview, as he has had in the past. And it might all start off with just a traffic stop.

.) The car Mr. Nowell had this week got stuck on the hill because it is so steep and tore out the wiring for the tail lights. And when he drove he didn’t have any tail lights, but God protected him when he was on the road on the Preparation Day.

.) There is a Preparation Day for the New Moon Day. On the day before the New Moon Day, there is time to buy food needed for the Kiddush and prepare the meal ahead of the Holy day.  Some people want to eat cold food and this is all right, but not necessary. Food can be warmed

                                                                          *  *  *

.) Love Yah’s way for it is a better way. Celebrate with Father and Yahveh.

.) Message for NEW MOON DAY: How to Give Praise to Father

.) The secret in building a stronger family and relationship is to value the other people in the family. Talk about the health of your pussy cat if you have one.

.) Look for the good things Father does and thank him for particular animals you might have seen. It is very important to talk about the little things to Father because it’s just like having a family relationship and talking about the pets in your family. This helps to build a relationship with Father.

.) Tell Father your feelings and that way he can know when you’re hurt and in what way you were hurt. Tell Father when you are really hurt and tell Father you are having trouble forgiving the person who said this or did this to me. Share this with Father because he is part of my family.

.) Take time to reflect and discus things with Father. Guard your time fiercely so that you can have enough quality time to have prayers with Father. It’s a constant fight to get things done in the way they should be. And we have to learn how to budget our time and be successful.

.) Learn how to use the situations that you are in, things that happen to you, to use those situations to grow, use them as an opportunity.

.) Bear Note: When things are really going bad in your life, learn how tough you can be.

.) Rather than question why something is so bad or why something so bad has happened to you, take it as an opportunity to learn how tough you can be.

.) Bear Note: A successful man used the bricks that are thrown at him to build an extra house.

.) Shift the emphasis of the negative experience onto something positive. Shift your spirit to being uplifted. It is important to change your perception of everything.

.) Bear Note: Remember the size of your heart controls the condition of your life.

.) A man who has a calm spirit, an excellent spirit. The gentle Caleb calmly kicked the giant off the giant’s own mountain. This is what we can do if we have a powerful spirit.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell took the bricks thrown at him and built a church congregation. This is how to handle adversity.

.) Bear Note: Whatever you gain by compromise, you will eventually lose.

.) The Bible says to “Walk in the Spirit” in Galatians 5:16 and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

.) Bear Note: When we are governed by the Holy Spirit, it will govern our human spirit so we won’t be ruled by our natural thinking and desires.

.) Romans 8:5 instructs us that those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on the things of the flesh, and those who live according to the things of the Spirit have their minds on the things of the Spirit.

.) BIG Bear Note: To overcome sin, we must set our minds on the things of God, things of the Spirit.

.) Switch your thoughts to the things of God, and avoid thinking wrong thoughts. Romans 8:6 says, “To be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

REB Romans 8:6, “Those who live on the level of the Spirit have the spiritual outlook, and that is life and peace.”

.) We want to renew our minds through the Holy Spirit. That way we can draw closer to Father and be more like him, and not have that self-pleasing attitude of the heart of “me first.”

.) Once we learn to be like Father and walk in the Spirit, we won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh, and we’ll have happier lives. We will definitely have happier lives.

.) When you are having a relationship with Father and you have a particular sin in your life, you want to confess your sin to Father and this is important. Once you confess your sin, Father will be working with you so he can give you the help you need.

.) Going to the basics even ask God to help you love him. The command is “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart…” Mark12:28 Therefore, follow it.

.) And if you don’t think you can muster enough love, ask Father to have the Holy Spirit guide you; sort it out for you.

.) You’ve got the Spirit of Truth so on this New Moon Day, draw closer to Father because you have the Spirit. John 14:15-17 says,“If you love me, keep my commandments.

.) “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever…ye know him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.”

.)  John 14:17 tells us that the world cannot receive the Spirit of Truth because it seeth him not, neither knows him. (People can’t accept the Holy Spirit.)

.) We can draw closer to Father because we have the Spirit of Truth telling us about the New Moon Day and we have the whole day set aside as a day of rest, a day of feasting, a day of joy where we can draw closer to Father.                                      [Transcriber’s Note: We worship before the one who hears our prayers.]

.) Drawing closer to Father is a possibility because the Holy Spirit assists us. REB John 14:16 says, “I (Yeshua) will ask (pray) the Father, and he will give you another to be your advocate (helper), who will be with you forever—the Spirit of Truth…He dwells with you and will be in you.” We have hope when the Holy Spirit is in us.

.) Bear Note: The Holy Spirit is like power steering. But first I’ve got to turn the wheel. Power steering doesn’t work until I start to turn the wheel. As I start to turn the wheel then the power steering kicks in.

.) When we respond to Father we can have a relationship him. And that’s how we can get the strength to repent and that’s how we can draw closer to Father through the Spirit. But we first have to turn the wheel. The power steering doesn’t cut in until after we turn the wheel. [Transcriber’s Note:  But we first have to obey Father’s manual book. Then the Holy Spirit will assist us in doing things God’s way.]

.) REB Romans 8:26 says, “…The Spirit comes to the aid of our weaknesses. We do not even know how we ought to pray, but through our inarticulate groans the Spirit itself is pleading for us (making intercessions for us).”

.) Verses 27-28 continue, “And God who searches our inmost being knows what the Spirit means, because it pleads for God’s people as God himself wills; and in everything, as we know, it co-operates for good (enters into our messes) with those who love God and are called according to his purpose.”

.) Have confidence in Father and Father’s great plan because he promised to give us this other helper—the Spirit of Truth, John 14:16. We have the Spirit of Truth in us. This should be a great comfort to us.

.) Build yourself up in the most holy faith by praying in the power of the Holy Spirit. Jude 1:20 The Spirit speaks for us. As we speak the Spirit adds things to it. We’re here listening to the TOCOG broadcast because the Spirit has been guiding us.

.)  John 16:13 says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide us into all the truth…he will speak only what it hears and it will make known to us what is to come.

.) John 14:26 tells us “that Holy Spirit…will teach us everything.” That Spirit of Truth has come upon us and we are here today because we are following the New Moon Day.

.) We will be empowered to be witnesses. Acts 1:8 says that we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us; and we will bearwitness for Jesus in Jerusalem, and throughout all Judea and Samaria, and even in the farthest corners of the earth.

.)  TOCOG is witnessing to the ends of the earth. This, basically, is what Christianity is about, and Jesus, at its heart, is our example. We follow Yeshua as to how he did things and therefore we do things the same way he does.

.) That’s why TOCOG doesn’t have Turkey-god Day, that’s why we don’t have Sky Father’s Day that’s why we don’t have Mother-goddess Day because we are going to be marrying Yeshua and we want to live the same way he lived in the first century.

.) Jesus is not going to be taught our days. We’ve got to learn his days and ways of living, because we are engaged to him to become his bride. It’s very important that we all understand that we want to be observing New Moon Day so we can be just like Father and Yeshua and to love Father and Yeshua.

.) We should love God more than our children. We shouldn’t acknowledge their calls on Father’s Day or Mother’s Day. We should hang up on them. There are 364 other days our children can call us if they want to wish their parents good wishes or give them gifts. These special days are not part of the way Yeshua lives.

.) We want to love Father with all of our strength, which is our abilities, our money, and our time. Once we are doing that we’ve got to keep pure: Purity is a very big aspect of our lives as being engaged to Yeshua.

.) How can we keep our ways pure? Psalm 119:9-16 tells us, By seeking God with all our hearts (verse 10). Verse 11 says, “Do not let me stray from your commandments.” We have hidden God’s Word in our hearts that we might not sin against you Father.

.) Bear Note: We keep pure by hiding the Word of God in our hearts so that we do not sin.

.) So whenever sin is going to try to overtake us, pick the Bible up and start reading. This is how we can keep our ways and our hearts pure. The Bible keeps us from sin.

.) Keep God’s Bible next to your heart and read it. Psalm 119:11 says to hide the words in your heart that you might not sin against Father. Learn to live a pure life because it glorifies Father to do so. It honors him.

.) There are a lot of nice people in the world. It’s not simply a morality of being nice, but we want a pure life because it glorifies God. And we keep pure by reading God’s words and living according to His Word.  We seek Father with all our hearts and hide His Word in our hearts, and meditate on his precepts.

.) Christians have problems on how God loves them, and how they are really going to be doing well with Father. Also, whether or not that if they want to do well, would Father ever forgive them and are they worthy?

.) Once we have God’s Holy Spirit in us, we are worthy of the lamb and the blood of the Lamb, no matter what happens in our lives, no matter how much we get beaten up, no matter how broken we are, we are still worthy, and valuable to God.

.) So all the people with very severe problems out there in the different countries we broadcast to, you have value because if you have God’s Holy Spirit in you, no matter what men do to you, no matter how you starve today, or the things that are going to be happening in the next years with the persecution.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell wants to use the example of a twenty dollar bill. He asks if anybody wants this $20 dollar bill, and that person can come up to his desk and have it.

But first, Mr. Nowell takes the $20.00 bill and crumples it up. Then he throws it on the floor and stomps on it and drags it across the dirty floor. He picks it up again, knocks the dust off and he asks, Do you still want this $20.00 bill? The answer is. Of course!

.) The same thing with Father. He has inherently given you his Spirit and with his Spirit in you, you are valuable. Even if you are crumpled up and all dirtied, like the $20.00 bill, Father still wants you and there is inherent value to you. Just like there is inherent value to the $20.00 bill, even though it is all crumpled up and all dirty.

.) It is important to build up a relationship with the neighbors, especially when they know you have something to do with a church.

.) Psalm 103:14 says we are but dust. “He knows how we are made, he remembers that we are but dust.” Father deems us immeasurably valuable, no matter how dirty we are in being soiled, and how crumpled-up we are. So that’s how Father thinks of us.

.) Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay (that’s us) to show that this all surpassing power is from God, and not from us.” II Corinthians 4:7

.) Bear Note: In Paul’s day it was a custom to store treasure in clay jars. People used a common container and disguised its contents on top to draw attention away from hidden treasure within the jar.

.) You and I might not look like much on the outside, we might appear as common jars of clay, but inside there is incredible treasure. We might appear as cracked old pots, but inside might reside the wonderful gift of God’s Holy Spirit, giving us immense value.

.) The Obedient Church of God has the ability to show people how to love God because we have been through some terrible experiences in our lives, and in the last couple of years with losing all of our property to thieves, we didn’t lose our lives. So we were fortunate the thieves didn’t kill us.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell still has not gotten his Corvette back from when it was stolen in October 2009. The thieves sold it to a car lot and they refuse to turn it over.

And the sheriff won’t go get it without a writ of assistance, which costs another $2,000 for a lawyer to get it written. This is one of the things Mr. Nowell is going to have to do.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell is more concerned about building the “Holy hill” right now than worrying about the Corvette. The point is TOCOG has   been through some tough situations and we’ve got to learn to love our enemies, or else we are no better than the tax collectors.

.) God so loved the world that when we were his enemies Yeshua gave his life for us.

So we have to learn how to handle our enemies, and our relationship with Yeshua is affected by how we treat our enemies.

.) There’s comfort in being at peace with your enemies, but you don’t let them continue to walk over you. But you have the peace of God that passes all human understanding so that the thieves and their actions don’t bother you anymore.

.) We realize this is a terrible evil world. Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell has had things stolen in every city. His television was stolen out his house in Eugene, Oregon.

.)  All his farm implements, including the tractor, were stolen in Omak, and that included a pick-up truck, a logging trailer that had been built with dual axels and six tires on it. He had a red camper truck stolen and two other campers stolen in Omak. That’s pretty rough all around from Eugene, Oregon, to Omak, Washington.

.) The commandment is to love one another. John 15:12-13 says, “This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you. There is no greater love than this, that someone should lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do what I command you.”

.) Love one another so we can be like our marriage partner Yeshua. We’ll fit right in there with his love of giving his life for his enemies for when we were his enemies, he gave his life for us.  So, therefore, we have to learn that relationship so that we can be like him.

.) Then when we are living with him and we’re working with all these people who are a bunch of dirty skunks and after the thousand years, that we don’t burn them all up like little grease spots that they are. And that we continue to show love and concern till their hundred years are over. If they haven’t repented by then, we leave it to Father’s hand to put them in the Lake of Fire

.) Christianity is not irrational. It is rational and it’s based on truth. Yeshua had said, “I am the way, the truth, and life.” It’s not an abstract thing. It’s a living thing because

Yeshua was the way, the life, and the truth. Truth is a living thing.

.) Truth is a wise relationship. So therefore, if I am going to marry Yeshua I’ve got to love my enemies the same way Yeshua loved his enemies—us—and gave his life for us while we were his enemies.

.) The essence of Eternal Life is to love the Lord my God with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my mind. That’s the first greatest commandment.

.) The Jewish rabbis have about 603 commandments, but they can be boiled down to the essence of life that Yeshua said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul , and with all your mind.” And the result of your loving him will be for you to obey him. And that will turn your heart.

.) Now to make it totally applicable, Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell told  little personal experiences and quoted some favorite Bible verses and that will make it more relevant.

.) So for today’s sermon Mr. Nowell wanted to make it more heart felt and to make it heart felt we have to know what is going on inside of us so that we can have a relationship with Yeshua. And to have a relationship with Yeshua we’ve got to have the same personality—same qualities as he has.

.) We cannot be mean and aggressive when a situation doesn’t call for aggression.

.) Love is so misunderstood. It’s not being foolish. There is wise love; it isn’t a warm fuzzy love; it’s built on truth; it’s complex and it involves skills. Love involves valuing people; it actually involves loving people. Love is a way of character.

.) What does Father say to people he will be working with? In Exodus 18:21 Moses was told, “Search for capable, God-fearing men among all the people, incorruptible and honest men…to act as judges over simple cases among the people.” (Moses took the difficult cases.) Father chooses these qualities, which are dynamic in simplicity and clarity.

.) We are supposed to judge small matters and we are supposed to take advice. Proverbs 12:15 says, “He who heeds counsel is wise.” We are to listen to good advice.

Taking advice helps the wise to grow in the next year or years.

.) Jeremiah 23:24 instructs us that Father sees everything. He fills heaven and earth so he knows our every thought and action. There is no secret place to hide from God.

.) We reap what we sow. Therefore, we must sow in the field of the Spirit and reap a harvest of eternal life.  Galatians 6:7-8 We must sow seeds that will draw us closer to Father and Yeshua and we will reap benefits from that sowing to be closer to God.

.) Don’t let evil get the best of us. We get the best of evil by doing good. Romans 12:21 tells us to use good to overcome and conquer evil. Turn bad situations around for good.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell realizes that it’ll be hard when he sees those thieves to not want to do something to them, buy scripture says, Don’t let evil get the best of you. We get the best of evil by doing good, by speaking properly & firmly without provoking.

.) REB Proverbs 2:20 instructs us, “See then that you follow the footsteps of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous.” The Message Bible says in Proverbs 2:20, “Join the company of good men and women, keep your feet on the tried and true paths.” So we want our associations to be with people of good character.

.) Mr. Nowell brings this out because if he happens to run into the thieves, he will speak to them kindly, but that doesn’t mean he will seek them out because he needs to join the company of good men and women, and keep his feet on the tried and true path.

.) Now how are we going to be content? What does the Bible have to say about contentment? On each day we want to be contented.

.) REB Proverbs 19:23 says, “The fear of the Lord is life; he who is full of it will rest untouched by evil.” The fear (respect) of the Lord leads to life, resting contentedly.

.) When trouble happens to you, yes, you initially are upset, but you are not going to let it eat you up. The fear of the Lord leads to contentment.

.) REB Psalm 145:16 says, “You open your hand and satisfy every living creature with your favor.” You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. You look after things.

.) Two nights ago Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell saw a raccoon that had been hit on the highway, so he stopped and thought he could take his jacket off and wrap the animal so it wouldn’t bite him, but when he got to the raccoon, it had expired. It had died.

.)s Desires of the raccoon would have been that it could be helped if it was still alive. That’s the kind of character we want to have.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell is going to having a lot of money coming in from some investments in the next years. He and TOCOG members will keep their lives free and be content with what we have. Keep your life free from the love of money.

.) REB Hebrews 13:5 warns us, “Do not live for money, be content with what you have, for God has said, ‘I will never leave nor desert you.’ ”

.) REB Proverbs 11:25-26 says, “A generous person enjoys prosperity, and one who refreshes others will be refreshed.”

.) The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed. Those who help others, are helped in their time of need. Blessings come to those who play fair and square; so if you want a blessing, don’t take advantage of others.

.) The people who had the trailer court where Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell lived, sued him, so yesterday he paid off the court costs of $650.00 and got that out of the way.

They chose to be Mr. Nowell’s enemies. They used to be in the Worldwide Church of God, and then they exited that church and went into The Church of God the Eternal and Mr. Nowell was in the same church at one time and was the song leader there.

.) These people who owned the trailer park where Mr. Nowell lived, didn’t want to have a church in their trailer park, so they had Mr. Nowell evicted.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell was going to leave anyway because he had “the holy hill”  he was trying to move to. But that wasn’t good enough for them. They wanted Mr. Nowell out immediately on their time because they wanted to be in control. So they sued Mr. Nowell, who has grown in Christ and doesn’t let experiences like that affect him. He paid off the unnecessary court costs of $650.00 and $1,000.00 for his lawyer.

.) Does Mr. Nowell bare them any animosity? No, he doesn’t. The last time he saw them, Mr. Nowell smiled and said, “How’s it going?” Will he hang around them? No! because he doesn’t want to hang around nasty people.

.) Mr. Nowell wants to keep his life in company of good people. And he has peace with those he trusts and who are people who have their thoughts fixed on Father.

.) REB Isaiah 26:3 says, “Lord, you keep those of firm purpose untroubled because of their trust in you.” THE MESSAGE BIBLE, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you.”

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell trusts in Father, and he is in peace, even with the police and he’s not worried about being interviewed for four hours because he knows Father will protect him and he has protected him for this last while.

.) When Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell is growing in character, he doesn’t grow by not doing anything. He has to do things.

.) Mr. Nowell moved into the trailer park and then he was moving out, but not fast enough for the owners. The main thing is Mr. Nowell didn’t even have to move to the east coast. He could have just “thrown in the towel” when he was booted out of Omak, but he didn’t.

.) It is nobler to try something and fail. By the way TOCOG has not failed. We have a congregation of over 200. It is nobler to try something and fail than to try nothing and succeed.  (This is a play on words.)

.) We grow more through our trials and our victories . It is nobler to try and fail than to try nothing. With tongue in your cheek you can say you succeeded in trying nothing because you don’t do anything, so you’ve succeeded. Well! It’s nobler to do something.

.) What Mr. Nowell is saying is NEVER GIVE UP. You don’t have to go to the extremes that Mr. Nowell is exposed to of building a separate church, but it all seems to be in Father’s plan because TOCOG will have their money to go on their own national network by having their own satellite.

.) The network owners went against Jack Van Empy because they told him he couldn’t preach against homosexuality and they kicked him off a whole bunch of stations because he was preaching against homosexuality.

.) The point of all this is that Mr. Nowell tried something and in this case TOCOG has succeeded. Mr. Nowell tells us to get a computer and start learning how to use it, no matter how old we are.  Don’t worry about becoming older.

.) REB II Corinthians 12:10 says, “His letters, so it is said, ‘are weighty and powerful, but when he is present he is unimpressive, and as a speaker he is beneath contempt.’ ”

.) Message Translation, “I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer. I just let Christ take over, and so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.” (As we age)

.) REB II Corinthians 4:17-18 says, “Our troubles are slight and short-lived, and their outcome is an eternal glory which far outweighs them, provided our eyes are fixed, not on the things that are seen, but on the things that are unseen; for what is seen is transient.” This should give us such confidence, that the things which we cannot see will last forever.

.) REB II Corinthians 2:14 tells us to give praise to Father and Yeshua. “Thanks be to God, who continually leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession, and uses us to spread abroad the fragrance of the knowledge of himself!”

We praise him for leading us in triumphal procession.

.) REB Proverbs16: 9 says, “Some may plan his journey by his on wit, but it is the Lord who guides his steps.” That is something to have confidence in: Father is guiding steps.

.) Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell made the plans to set up the feast sites in Townsend, Tennessee, on the “holy hill,” and now it’s all coming to fruition. It’s coming to fruition because Father is guiding our steps.[Transcriber’s Note: HALLELUJAH!]

.) The Scriptures prove to us that we can chart our course, and we can have goals and success for the coming year. Pray that Yeshua will guide our steps.

.) We should have goals. As our lives are in Christ Yeshua and we are planning to marry him, we should keep goals. We should write down our goals to clean up our language, and avoid getting irritated, so we can be more like Yeshua.

.) If there is something specific that I’d like to change about my marriage to Christ, change it. Maybe I don’t spend enough time with him now. I need to reset my priorities inregard to what matters most and spend more time in being with Yeshua this week.

.) I must trust and work in Yeshua for my future. What I want to do is grow, and plan my course, and ask for divine guidance. I’m engaged to Yeshua, so I must ask for divine guidance. Here is a story for my sense of direction for my marriage to Yeshua.

                                                                *  *  *

.) In December 1995 American Airlines flight 965 departed from Miami on a regular scheduled trip to Cali, Columbia. On the landing approach the pilot of the 757 jet gave it to select the next radio navigation fix named Rozo. He entered an R into his navigational computer. The computer returned a list of nearby fixes starting with R. And pilot selected the first of these whose latitude and longitude appeared to be correct.

.)  Instead of Rozo, the pilot unfortunately selected Romeo, 132 miles to the northeast. That was not good. So following the indications on the flight computer, the pilot began an easterly turn and slammed right into a granite peak at 10,000 feet. More than 150 people aboard were killed—parished!

.) The plane navigated the same way modern jumbo jets do. When the plane is on course the needle on the control panel is centered, but the needle gave no indication of the correctness of the goal of the selected radio beacon. The gauge looked pretty good, much the same as it does just before the landing, before crashing.

.) The computer told the pilot he as tracking precisely the beacon he had selected. Unfortunately, the pilot neglected to select the correct beacon.

                                                                   *  *  *

.) In much the same sense, we can set directions for our marriage with Yeshua without knowing how to do it properly. For you and I to set our course for this coming year or this coming month since it is new moon or mew month day, ask God to guide us.

.) So this is going to be the first step in our monthly exercise here, so Mr. Nowell is making it a practice for The Obedient Church of God to ask for God’s guidance for this month so we can chart our month for the coming thirty days, using the right beacon.

.) Therefore, because we are human,w e can make mistakes, get off on tangents of doctrine, and “crash into the mountain.”

.) The Obedient Church of God has been led by God to understand New Moon Day and how to use it to draw closer to Father. But now we’re seeing a different thing here.

That is, when we set our beacon we want to ask for the spiritual help in order to chart our course. [Transcriber’s Note: Our goal is to become citizens of God’s Kingdom.]

.) Our goal is to be like Yeshua, but we have to chart how we are going to do this so we don’t “fly into the mountain” that’s along the way.

.) Mr. Nowell has charted his course for this month in not being mad at the people who just cost me $650.00 in unnecessary court fees. He paid the court costs at the start of this new month, on the preparation day to the New Moon Day since we don’t buy or sell on this day. Mr. Nowell wants to start off his new moon month with a closer relationship with his enemies. [Transcriber’s Note: New Moon Day is like the Sabbath.]

.) As Mr. Nowell paid his court fee, we should do something physical that changes our lives and the relationships in our lives.

.) On this New Moon Day chart your course on how you want your life to be more like Yeshua and have more peace in your life.[Transcriber’s Note: New Moon Day is special]

.)  This is the sermon for today on how to draw closer to Yeshua by actually doing something this month and every new moon day, resetting our course to attain our goal.

.) The closing hymn is Psalm 138, “Lord, I Will Praise Thee,” followed by the closing prayer given by Mr. Lawrence A. Nowell.

.)Closing Music: “I Just Want to be a Sheep.”
