Should people be allowed to carry guns openly?

Yes. I’m a white woman, elder, and I live in a mostly black city. If you don’t believe in reverse discrimination you really should. If I have to run to CVS or Walmart or really any local stores frequently groups of young men will be loitering around the exit. Before I armed myself they would attempt to follow you to your car and take whatever they could get. Now that I open carry it does not happen to me. They want to pick from the low hanging fruit and I now appear to be someone who fight back and cause a seen. fight for my rights, so they pick on someone else.

Right before the pandemic I was upstairs in my bedroom about to fall asleep when I heard a loud crash and glass shattering. I grabbed my gun and met the young man as he was trying to climb into my dining room window. I was in the process of talking to 911 and clearly told the man if he came through the window he’d be shot. He decided to move along to an easier target. The police actually caught the man attempting to rob another house nearby and I had to pick him out of a photo array and testify. He is still spending time in prison. I really don't know what would have happened if I did not have a firearm. I doubt me with a baseball bat would not have intimidated him.

So yes, I wholly support open carry. And yes, if the guy had continued to advance on me I would have absolutely had no compunction with regards to shooting him in the head the second his feet hit my floor.

I love my city. I absolutely love my house, I have great neighbors.

If you think I am a racist think again. I raised my son who is bi-racial.

Uh, I think this falls under the umbrella of god helps those who help themselves.
