The faithful in Jerusalem heeded the warnings
and fled to the mountains.
Today 2026
Make Physical Preparation in your Homes
when you SEE the signs.
Matthew 24:21-22; Revelation 10:6; Daniel 7:5; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3
Brothers and sisters in the Obedient Church of God, we are called to live as the first-century believers did — watchful, obedient to every word of God, and not conformed to this world. Today we look at the words of our Savior in Matthew 24. Jesus warned of a time of “great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
He immediately added this mercy: “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” (Matthew 24:22)
In 70 A.D., during the days of Unleavened Bread, the faithful in Jerusalem heeded the warnings and fled to the mountains when they saw the signs. Many lives were spared because they obeyed.
Today, as we see events unfolding in the Middle East — the ongoing war involving Israel and Iran, the severe restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz with thousands of ships stranded, rising energy prices, and the threat of further escalation — we must also be watchful.
Some prophetic voices, including notes from https://SchoolOfElijah.org point to April 6, 2026 (the third day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread) as a potential window of heightened danger, possibly involving major escalation by Israeli leadership (sometimes called Milkowski/Netanyahu in certain discussions).
Whether or not that specific date brings the feared event, the pattern matches what Scripture describes: temporary appearances of “peace and safety” followed by sudden trouble.
The Bigger Spiritual Picture
We understand that behind human leaders and geopolitical moves stands a spiritual adversary. Satan knows the Scriptures. He knows that faithful humans — the redeemed from all the tribes — are destined to rule with Christ and even judge angels (1 Corinthians 6:3). The more destruction he can sow now through wars, economic collapse, and famine, the fewer may stand ready for that calling.
This aligns with the Georgia Guidestones’ goal of reducing humanity dramatically and the push toward a New World Order. The current war is damaging energy supplies and world trade routes, just as warned. Yet God is sovereign. He will shorten the days for the elect’s sake. Revelation 10:6 speaks of a time when “there should be no more delay.” Many expect the final seven years could begin around October 2026.
We also remember the distinction in Scripture:
The House of Judah (who developed Judaism and remained in the land in 70 A.D.: Did nothing and just sat in the temple and were murdered).
versus
The broader House of Israel/Ephraim (the prodigal who returns in repentance), who fled to hide in the mountains, survived.
Our calling is to be obedient Israelites — following the whole Word of God, not traditions of doing nothing, that blind.
Practical Preparation –
Like the Christians in 70 A.D.
The believers in 70 A.D. did not just pray — they acted on the warning. We should do the same, in faith and wisdom, not fear:
Start small this week. A basic setup does not require great wealth — just obedience and foresight.
Closing Encouragement
Jesus said, “When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28).
We are not children of fear. We are the Obedient Church, called to live by every word of God. Whether the days ahead bring the Pyrrhic “peace and safety” some expect, followed by sudden events, or whether God intervenes sooner — our job is the same: stay faithful, prepare wisely, and warn others while there is time.
Let us end with prayer for protection, wisdom, and the hastening of God’s Kingdom.
