A deep fear IS shared by some Christians in that faithful believers will face severe persecution, including being labeled as threats (like "terrorists") and executed in brutal ways, such as beheading.

On January 7, 2026, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Good (also referred to as Renée Nicole Macklin Good), a 37-year-old U.S. citizen, mother of three, poet, and Minneapolis resident, during a large-scale immigration enforcement operation in the city.
The incident occurred on Portland Avenue in south Minneapolis, near where Good lived, amid a major federal surge involving around 2,000 agents deployed to the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area starting early January. Good, who had recently moved to the city after personal loss (including the death of a previous spouse), was reportedly present as a legal observer monitoring ICE activities—not as a target of arrest. She was driving a maroon Honda SUV with her wife in the vehicle after dropping off a child at school.
Key Details of the Shooting
- Witnesses and multiple videos (including cellphone footage and one from an ICE agent's body-worn or handheld camera) show conflicting orders from agents, Good attempting to maneuver her vehicle (reversing and turning to drive away), and an agent positioning in front of or near the car.
- Good is heard calmly saying phrases like "I'm not mad at you" and "that's fine" seconds before shots were fired.
- The agent fired 3 times, once through the front windshield and twice at point blank range through the driver's side window as the vehicle DRIVING AWAY.
- Good was rushed to a hospital but died from her injuries.
Official Accounts and Controversy
The Trump administration, including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Vice President JD Vance, described the shooting as self-defense, claiming Good "weaponized" her vehicle, attempted to run over agents, and committed an "act of domestic terrorism." They emphasized the agent (identified as Jonathan E. Ross, a 10-year veteran of ICE's special response team) feared for his life and followed training. Ross had previously been dragged by a vehicle during a June 2025 arrest in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Local officials strongly disputed this:
- Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called the federal narrative "bullshit" and "reckless use of power," demanding ICE "get the fuck out" of the city.
- Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and others expressed concerns over the investigation, noting the FBI took sole control (excluding state agencies like the BCA), raising fears of lack of transparency.

and the scene evokes memories of George Floyd's 2020 unlawful murder, by an agent putting his knee on George’s neck nearby (about one mile away).

In many interpretations (especially premillennial/dispensational ones), this refers to martyrs during the Great Tribulation= A future period of intense global persecution under a figures called the Antichrist & "Beast." Christian believers refuse to GO ALONG WITH WHAT THE BEAST SAYS, and refuse to take the "mark" OF AGREEING WITH THE BEAST=symbol of allegiance to evil).
Therefore Christians are then executed for SPEAKING THE TRUTH about Jesus. Their punishment is DEATH by Beheading that is specified here. Extreme State actions ARE connected to historical patterns where this method (of killing resistors) was used for
