Sermon: “As a Man Thinketh… So Shall His Body Be”

(A Message on Divine Health and the Power of the Renewed Mind)

Today we want to preach a word of a subject that touches every one of us: NOT BEING SICK. Not just “getting healed when you’re sick,” but:

Living in divine health so that sickness has no legal right to stay in your body.

And the key that unlocks this supernatural reality is found in one short, explosive verse:

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7, KJV)

Church, hear me clearly: Your mind is the control center of your entire life—including your life expectancy and the very health of your physical body.

The thoughts you allow to dominate your heart will either open the door to sickness or slam it shut!

1. The Mind Controls the Body – God Said It First

God did not wait for modern science to discover psychoneuroimmunology or the placebo effect. He declared it thousands of years ago:

As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

The Hebrew word for “thinketh” literally means “to reckon, to esteem, to calculate.” In other words, whatever you continually reckon, esteem, and calculate in your heart—that is exactly what your life and your body will become!

Jesus reinforced this when He said: “According to your faith be it unto you.” (Matthew 9:29) Faith is not just belief—it is directed thought. It is the mind fixed on the promise of God until the body obeys.

Look at what the Apostle Paul commanded us: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:2)

The Greek word “transformed” is metamorphoo—the same word used for the caterpillar turning into a butterfly. When you renew your mind with God’s Word, your body literally undergoes a metamorphosis—from sickness to health, from weakness to strength, from short life to long life!

2. Your Thoughts Literally Govern Your Life Expectancy

The Bible is full of proof:

Science has now caught up with the Bible. Medical researchers have proven that chronic stress, fear, and

negative thinking releases cortisol that destroys immune function,

shortens telomeres (the “aging clocks” in your cells), and

can literally reduce life expectancy by years.

But the opposite is also true:

Faith-filled, Scripture-saturated thinking

releases healing chemicals,

strengthens white blood cells, and

adds length to your days—

just as God promised in Exodus 23:26: “I will fulfill the number of your days.”

Your mind is not a passenger—it is the pilot! You are not a victim of your body; your body is a servant of your renewed mind.

3. How to Use Your Mind as a Weapon Against Sickness

So how do we do this practically?

Step 1: Cast down every sick thought.

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God…” (2 Corinthians 10:5) Every time a symptom speaks, every time fear whispers “You’re getting old,” “Cancer runs in your family,” or “This pain is here to stay”—you answer with BIBLE WordS:

Step 2: Speak what God says about your body.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Start declaring:

Step 3: Meditate day and night on healing Scriptures.

Fill your mind with the promises until they become your default thinking. What you meditate on, you become.

Step 4: Guard the gates.

Stop feeding your mind with fear-filled news, negative conversations, and doom-scrolling. Feed it the Word, worship, and testimonies of healing.

5:Your mind controls your health

I’m not preaching theory—I’m preaching the living Word of the living God! Your mind controls your health. Your thoughts control your life expectancy.

And the God who created both your mind and your body stands ready to make you whole.

If you are tired of being sick, tired of fear ruling your thoughts, tired of watching your body age before its time—today is your day of freedom!

Would you stand with me right now? Place your hand on your heart and repeat after me:

“Lord, I repent for allowing fear and sickness to rule my thoughts.

Vs

Today I choose to renew my mind with Your Word.

As I think in my heart, so shall I be—healthy, strong, and full of days!

By the stripes of Jesus, I AM healed, and

I decree that:

“sickness has no place in this body”.

My mind is stayed on You, and You keep me in perfect peace—and perfect health. In Jesus’ mighty name—Amain!” https://1stcenturychristian.com/Amen.html

Now lift your hands and receive this blessing:

May the God of all peace sanctify you wholly—spirit, soul, and your body—and keep you blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You will not be sick.

You will live and not die.

Your mind will be renewed.

Your body will obey, and your days will be long upon the earth!

Your heart will be peaceful now.

Go in peace.

Go in power.

Go in divine health!

Amain.

Let it be so.
